Members of the DIID are, on the one hand, researchers from the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and, on the other hand, cooperation partners from practice. Analyzing and developing the potential of the Internet for democratic innovations requires not only interdisciplinary cooperation within academia, but also transdisciplinary cooperation with practitioners. On the one hand, the exchange with practice guarantees demand-oriented and problem-oriented research. On the other hand, scientifically based models for a democratic use of the Internet can be practically implemented, tested and further developed.
